Dopo l’ondata autunnale del penny loafer con la suola chunky, queste scarpe, dal minimalismo squisitamente retrò, continueranno a rendere i nostri outfits squisitamente preppy anche durante questa primavera estate 2021! Ci faranno compagnia durante i cambi di stagione; dal tepore primaverile alla calura estiva per ripresentarsi poi in autunno, più glamour che mai. Sì, perché tanto lo sappiamo che poi anche le vacanze finiscono e arriva settembre e siamo punto e da capo. Tanto vale portarsi avanti, no? 

Secondo la storia, questo modello di calzature comode e raffinate affonda le sue radici in più paesi e per ragioni diverse. Dagli indiani d’America ai pescatori norvegesi con tutto il ‘900 di mezzo. Ma è l’America degli anni 50 e 60 a scriverne i capitoli più importanti e a crearne dunque il mito. Mocassini uomo e donna si ispirano al carisma e allo stile di James Dean, Buddy Holly ed Elvis. Sono però gli studenti dei college americani ad inglobarli all’uniforme d’ordinanza. Le otto università private più prestigiose degli Stati Uniti d’America, hanno definito i look preppy di allora per arrivare sino ai giorni nostri più casual e glam di sempre.

Nel 1953, grazie all’intuizione di Aldo Gucci (figlio del fondatore Guccio Gucci), diventa a tutti gli effetti una scarpa genderless perfetta per lui e per lei. Basti pensare a una giovanissima Jodie Foster, sfrecciante per strada su uno skate, con i suoi iconici mocassini “GG” durante i primi anni 70; oppure giusto un decennio prima, quando nel 1957 Audrey Hepburn in  Funny face, al fianco di un eccellente Fred Astaire, dimostra tutte le sue doti come ballerina e cantante, indossando un look composto da pantaloni e dolcevita scuri e da un paio di mocassini di pelle nera portati con un paio di calzini bianchi!

Le scarpe delle giovani generazioni: preppy, skater e neo-grunge

Questo accessorio classy, caratterizzato dal design essenziale e minimale, dove l’unico eccesso concesso è una fibbia più o meno importante o una suola poco più spessa, ora diventa oggetto di culto. Sorpassa definitivamente l’idea di item sofisticato, la cultura neo grunge li sdogana dall’idea di “classico” scegliendo modelli chunky. Lo sa bene anche Maeve Reilly, super stylist di Hailey Bieber, che ha inserito nella top 10 dei trend di stagione i loafers con i calzini! Famosa per il suo street style disinvolto e sempre super cool, Hailey, è indiscutibilmente il punto di riferimento e un’icona per il mondo della moda, quindi come al solito è stata una delle prime celebrities ad indossare questa nuova tendenza! 

I mocassini secondo la moda street style

Resta il fatto che rimane sempre il dubbio su come indossare i mocassini per evitare un look démodé, appannato da abbinamenti sorpassati, privi di carattere e personalità.

I loafers suggeriscono outfit dal sapore vintage: basta una gonna a pieghe e un cardigan per ritrovarsi in un college americano. Ma non è questa la soluzione: la contemporaneità suggerisce di abbinarli a pantaloni con spacchi che mostrano le caviglie, minigonne e abiti da sera. Poi camicia, t-shirt boxy e magari un trench leggero o una quilted jacket!

Ecco che i mocassini sostituiscono décolleté dal tacco stiletto e sneakers super sporty. Un buon compromesso tra stile e comodità.

Con o senza calzini? Indossare i loafers a piedi nudi è la pratica più diffusa, perché in questo modo si slancia la gamba e non si spezza visivamente la silhouette. Il binomio, mocassini più calzini, richiede una generosa dose di creatività. Se ne siete sprovviste lasciate perdere. Se invece vi sentite audaci, osate, ma sempre con stile. Due regole fondamentali: calze Filo di Scozia oppure a costine molto sottili. Con i pantaloni meglio sceglierle lunghe al ginocchio, se sotto a gonne o vestitini vai di “Lolita style” con calze corte coprenti a tinta unita, tono su tono, oppure stampa fantasia ma in sintonia al resto della palette del look.

COMBO JEANS + LOAFERS

La combo Jeans e mocassini non si discute! A patto che le caviglie siano in bella vista. In questo caso sconsiglio l’utilizzo delle calze. Il color cuoio, il bordeaux e il blu notte sono le tonalità che matchano maggiormente con quasi tutti i look. Un bel trench o una quilted jacket, una clutch o una crossbody bag e il gioco è fatto!

COMBO MAXI DRESS + LOAFERS

Con la gonna o il maxi-dress in impalpabile chiffon plissé, in nuance pop rosa bubble gum come invocano i trend cromatici di stagione. 

MIDI SKIRT + LOAFERS

Con il benestare di ogni Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot e Catherine Deneuve vissute negli anni 60. Gonne midi al ginocchio, oppure cortissime a pieghe, vanno tutte alla grande. L’importante è indossare tutto con estrema disinvoltura, del tipo “ ho messo le prime cose che ho trovato nel guardaroba, loafers inclusi”!

PANTS WITH LATERAL VENTS + LOAFERS

Se amate uno stile più underground, potete optare per un paio di pantaloni con aperture laterali o frontali che lasciano intravedere le caviglie e i vostri amati mocassini! Una biker jacket e una shoulder bag per completare l’outfit e sarete più cool che mai!

CHUNKY LOAFERS

Se vi ricordate ve ne avevo già parlato lo scorso inverno, i chunky boots avevano conquistato il cuore di tutte le fashion lovers, ebbene, anche i mocassini della primavera 2021 cedono alle lusinghe di suole chunky, in carrarmato chiaro o colorato, in supporto a modelli con passante penny o fibbia metallica. Indossali pure con tutti quei look amici degli anfibi alti: vestitini corti, jeans sfilacciati corti alla caviglia, camicie oversize e denim, a voi la scelta!

This classy accessory, characterized by the essential and minimal design, where the only excess allowed is an important buckle or a little thicker sole, now becomes a cult object. Definitely surpassing the idea of sophisticated item, the neo grunge culture clears them from the idea of “classic” by choosing chunky models.    Maeve Reilly, Hailey Bieber’s super stylist, knows it well and has included loafers with socks in the top 10 trends of the season! Famous for her nonchalant street style and always super cool, Hailey, is unquestionably the reference point and an icon for the fashion world, so as usual she was one of the first celebrities to wear this new trend!

The fact remains that there is always a doubt about how to wear loafers to avoid a démodé look, tarnished by outdated combinations, lacking in character and personality.

Loafers suggest outfits with a vintage flavor: just a pleated skirt and a cardigan to find yourself in an American college. But this is not the solution: contemporaneity suggests combining them with slit pants, miniskirts and evening dresses.

SOCKS, YES OR NO?

Wearing loafers barefoot is the most common practice, because in this way the leg is slender and does not visually break the silhouette. The combination, loafers plus socks, requires a generous dose of creativity. If you don’t have one, forget it. If, on the other hand, you feel daring, dare, but always with style. Two basic rules: Filo di Scozia socks or very thin ribbed socks. With pants it’s better to choose knee-length socks, if you wear them under skirts or dresses go Lolita style with short plain-colored opaque socks, tone on tone, or crazy patterned but in tune with the rest of the palette of the look.
